Parsons Technology

Before Bob Parsons founded GoDaddy, his first endeavor was Parsons Technology. He created the company’s initial software, MoneyCounts and Personal Tax Edge, in his basement. Big Behr partner, Randy Behr, joined Parsons in 1989 as a graphic designer. Later, as Creative Director, he oversaw the creation and production of all advertising and marketing efforts for the company. When Parsons Technology was sold to Intuit in 1994 for $64 million dollars, the company had nearly 1,000 employees, $100 million in annual revenue and three million customers. At the time, Parsons Technology sold more than 100 products, was releasing a new product or significant product upgrade every six days, and was sending more than six million pieces of direct marketing mail each month. Randy founded Marketing by Design in 1994, which later became Big Behr Design Co. in 1998.
